Happy Halloween?

So. I didn't do anything for homecoming last weekend. As a matter of fact I slept through the game.

This weekend (today) obviously is Halloween weekend and my big plans were to not drive however at this point I think I'll just try and drive on the streets that other people aren't driving on.

Music.

I've got two songs I've been listening to a lot. The funny thing is, they are pretty contradictory to each other.

Chorus Song 1: So What- Pink

So what!
I'm still a rock star
I got my rock moves
And I don't need you
And guess what?
I'm havin' more fun
And now that we're done
I'm gonna show you
Tonight...
I'm alright
I'm just fine
And you're a tool
So...
So what!
I am a rock star
I got my rock moves
And I don't want you tonight

Chorus Song 2- Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!- Mamma Mia! Soundtrack

Gimme gimme gimme a man after midnight
Won't somebody help me chase the shadows away
Gimme gimme gimme a man after midnight
Take me through the darkness to the break of the day

Brr

It's definitely gotten colder the past couple of days. Right now I want a hot bath to chill in for a while. Too bad the shower doesn't do the same thing because I could totally use the bath/reading warm up session.

Obama Rally!!!!

This morning I got up early (5am!) and headed downtown for the Barack Obama rally!!! Above is me with Barack... ok he's giving his speech but I was that close!! We were right in front of the podium with about 1-2 people in front of us. Best of the day??? I SHOOK BARACK OBAMAS HAND!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had a hard time getting a picture of me with Obama in the background so I was trying to prove that I really was that close.
These two guys were right behind us in the line to get in and then were just by us during the speech. This is code for we hung out with them for about 5 hours today. They were fun... at one point I think the guy on the left tried to steal my nose...
I walked into my 10am yesterday and Amy (far left) asked me if I was going to the Obama rally. She wanted to to go but didn't have a ride. I wanted to go but didn't want to go alone so we decided to go together. Her friend Monica came along too. They were fun!

I'm glad I skipped class! It was totally worth it!

10-20-08

Had a lazy fall break. Lots of sleeping and tv. Went through Seasons One and Two of The West Wing. Actually I'm watching the season finally of Season Two right now... very good episode. If I remember correctly Bartlett puts out a cig on the seal in the middle of the National Cathedral. Too bad I can't continue with Seasons 3-7. I've gotten a lot of new good quotes though...

"I'm just saying, if you were in an accident I wouldn't stop for a beer."
"If you were in an accident I wouldn't stop for red lights"

Oh the awkward relationship of Josh and Donna.

I didn't make it to Avenue Q... It was one of those things I felt I should do, but my desire to actually go was small so it fell to the side.

I made sesame noodles for dinner tonight... thought it'd be a good alternative to plain pasta and a pb&j. I already keep the majority of ingredients on hand so I might as well try it. Wow ever thought peanut butter was a good idea on pasta??? Then again I am probably the one person in the world who wouldn't cry if they were never able to eat peanut butter again. Yes, I'm the freak who doesn't even really like peanut butter.

Fall Break

Finally uploaded my pictures... Above is me and Victoria Storm.

I applied for an internship the other day. Got a call for a meeting today. The guy is going out of town so its not for another week and half, so we'll see how that works out. It's with the Indiana Wildlife Federation and from the small blurp I had on it I would be researching the impacts of environmental changes on Indiana wildlife. What to do you wear to a meeting with a non-profit biologist?

Missed the last five minutes of Project Runway last night... so I watched the show but didn't find out who won. Grey's was on at nine and can we just take a second to laugh? "No I want to see the guy with no face!" and Under the Tuscan Sun is currently playing on Lifetime. woo!

10-14-08

As of noon tomorrow it is officially fall break in Julie land. This equates to homework days (and naps) and fun filled evenings. So far such evenings include B-Rip with Krista and some of the GALA people, Avenue Q, and dinner at Spaghetti Factory with Krista. Sounds good to me, especially after the last two weeks. Five exams in four classes. 2 A's, 2 A-'s, and a solid B... not bad in my book.

I'm really glad I'm not living with anyone right now... my school stuff is EVERYWHERE. Tomorrow should probably be cleaning day.

Back Home Again

At noon the bell tower chimes the chorus to Back Home Again in Indiana. I think it's a good reminder to be proud of who you are and were you come from.

Spinning Head...

I think my head is spinning... literally. Tons of exams- Dad- and lots of assignments. Plus I volunteered for to help with PR for a drag show that the GLBT-straight alliance is putting on so I've got some stuff for that... and since I volunteered to help I need to see that through.

I've been thinking again about what I want to do after Butler.

1- I had this realization the other day... As much as I've never really had a plan, my general picture of my life did not include a single period between school and family. I'm totally ok with this not happening- actually, at this point there is no way I would marry anyone at that point anyways... even if he was The One and I met him tomorrow

2- I keep coming back to library school... I can't figure out if this is something I want or not. I did however geek out at the rare books preservation class at IU...

3- The Peace Corp pops up every once and while but leaving for 2 years kind of scares me. Add on top of that the fact that I've never been big on volunteering... and that I'm bad at languages.

4- I had a fourth... Oh, I'm not sure how I feel about research... Add onto that that there are NO- read that, NOT A SINGLE- biology class being offered next semester that I am remotely interested in. Great.

I should get back to my flashcards about algae... stupid algae.
