Wisconsin!

Wisconsin, sigh, I almost always think "Wisconsin Babes!! Here comes Colin and he's got a big....." Love Actually, Great movie.

Anyways the team is off to Carthage College in Kenosha Wisconsin, I just looked at the picture on their web page and they are the one school that sent me an interest letter for swimming. I think that was them, anyways I know I've seen that picture before. It's a prelim-finals meet. I'm swimming the 500 free, the 100 free, the 100 fly, and the 1650 free. You can check it out for yourself at http://www.carthage.edu/athletics/index.cfm?page=199 (again I am sorry but I don't know how to link). The boys will be easy to find if you want to look at them too. I think those are my individual events, of course there will be relays, fun fun, not really. Plus, I'll probably end up swimming one that I'm not supposed to, oh wait, that only happens at home meets so maybe not.

When I get back there is one more week of classes and a week of finals and then it is home for almost two whole weeks.

Dominick the Donkey

Chingedy ching,
(hee-haw, hee-haw)
It's Dominick the donkey.
Chingedy ching,
(hee-haw, hee-haw)
The Italian Christmas donkey.

TKE is decorated and playing their Christmas song. I actually like it, at least so far. But, I am one of those people who loves a song the more times they hear it. There is a facebook group about hating Dominick the Italian Christmas Donkey. It mad me sad.

As you can see Julie hit Target today and got some Christmas stuff. I wasn't going to... but I needed water. Yes, I buy water, you would too if the water was this gross, plus I've been getting dehydrated very easily here and I just down the bottles.

So today I went to study Chem with my friend Josie, and I walk in and she asks me "Do you have any panties you want to give a guy from Wabash?" huh? That needed some explination. This guy she knows (friend of a friend or something) is rushing for a frat at Wabash and they got dropped off here and we told to get as much underwear as they could (like pounds) or they had to sleep outside. So I finally managed to get rid of that underwear, you know the stuff the dog got a hold of. Ok, this is really turning into an strange rant. So I'm going to wind it down. Anyways, it was just kind of interesting.

Christmas

I meant to stock up on Christmas music while I was home and I forgot. Itunes is on repeat one, it's playing I want a hippopotamus for christmas. I meant to bring my tree back too, but of course forgot until the last minute. (I also forgot the long cable cord, good thing we don't really watch tv). I do wish we had something cool for our door, and that I had music to get me in the mood. I want to be in the mood, it's just always been a hastle in our house. And I'll admit, I'm not helping with the tree. Makes me mad. (I sound like my mom, it's true you have to admit it). Anyways, it's Christmas time here on campus!!!!

cancelled

So, I had two classes cancelled today. As much as I love cancelled classes, today was not a good day for them. Just kinda needed to get back into the swing of things and this didn't help. Plus, we are going to be behind so I am going to miss even more on Friday.

Back......

Back at school from Thanksgiving Break. It was a break, spent like most of my breaks in highschool were. Slept, swam, slept, ate, slept, hung out with Conor, and slept. Maybe not always in that order.

There are two more weeks of classes and then a week of finals. Then 13 days home before 4 days here and then 10 in San Juan.

almost unbelievable

Yup, that is my to-do list. And everything is crossed off. I'm caught up in all my reading. Done with all assignments for the week except for one, and if I do that one today I wouldn't be capable of talking about it Friday. My Darfur paper is one of those things that has been crossed of, except as I right this I still need to do my anonated list of sources so I guess there is one thing left to do. But the paper isn't do until Friday so it is all good. I would post it here but at four pages long no one would read it.

Not too hard of a week, not really a big surprise there.

in other news....

Five days till I go home. I'm ready for the break and to have the chance to just chill. It seems likes it is always busy busy here. We are in the final count down. After break there are two more weeks of classes and then finals. Then a break for Christmas and it is back here for a few days and then off to Hell in San Juan.

In other news. The BU Bulldogs pulled of a win over Notre Dame today. Hecks yes, and I don't even really like Basketball.

Switched cameras with my dad. Maybe I'll get some shots this week. Maybe, depends on how I feel and what I see.

Looking forward to the food at home. The mac'n'cheese tonight was lacking. I can't decide things to request. I've kinda been thinking that one soup mom got into a kick making two years ago. Or beef stew, and then there is the Thanksgiving food. Yum. And of course there is my couch and the tv. Just gotta grill it in for 4 more days of classes and a three hour practice.

Great day....

I love great days and this one was up there. Went to bed early last night so I was able to spend an hour waking up. Then I managed to get an hour and a half of homework in. Not near enough but it never is. Headed off to the meet. Meet was good, long as usual, it was the 16 event order. Swam the 1000 free, 100 free, and the 100 fly. Got changed and ready to go, had two more events to watch before I could leave and..... back into the suit for the 400 free relay. Put conditioner in the hair so it would stay niceish and got back in for another girl.

Got to see two of my favorite boys. They came back and helped Izzy and I unbunk our beds. The room looks great. I just need to move stuff out of my closet and under the bed, I'll do that in the next couple of days or so. Then we headed of to a dinner that cost more than it needed to. But it was very good.

I was really happy to see Conor, and I'm very excited about being home in less than a week. Might spend a little to much time in the car that week but I'll try and get over it.

Back to the homework mill and then a warm shower and off to bed.

Interesting yesterday.

Did my schedule. Got most of the classes I wanted. Got the humanities class I wanted (required for freshman in their second semester). It's about the fall of the American Dream in literature, readings include My Antonia, something by Toni Morrison, and The Things they Carried. Chemistry, Biology, and the required public speaking class (my first night class, tuesdays at 6:30) and my swimming credit hour puts me at 17. Good round number.

Last night was interesting. A lot of fun too. I learned how to draft pour. Then got complimented on it. Sounds like a good skill to have. (not sure, just what I'm told). The only part that stunk was filling Nacho trays with chips. Stuffing hot dogs wasn't so bad b/c there were five of us doing it at our station, four swimmers and another guy, so we had fun chattin' it up. Mostly I spent the night filling drink orders for the two cashiers next to me.

Well, gotta get to some more homework. I have a fun Saturday ahead of me.

Schedule in many ways

I've just spent the last hour or so trying to figure out my schedule for next semester. I had had it all planned out but my sign up slot sucks. A lot of the classes I want only have a few spots left in them and there is at least one opening tomorrow before mine. I'm not going to get lunch tomorrow. After class at 11 it's right back here to see what is open and then at 12:30 it's hurry hurry to beat the others with my time slot. Gosh.... And of course Anthropology 102 is all filled, or at least the one that would fit with the only open Chemistry lecture. Sigh... The world isn't fair, but sometimes I want it to tilt in my favor. Right now I have 14 credit hours, one of which is swim team. I could just leave it and still be on schedule to graduate but I don't want to. Bugger. I really wanted to take AN 102.

On other scheduling notes, no practice tomorrow, instead I get to go hang out at the Pacer game. But not for fun.... I get to be a cook... I'm not sure I'm ever buying food from places like that again. Down side... still not sure how I'm getting there.

A day

Man has it been a day...... Woke up (the first time) with a headache. Went to practice and wasn't too bad. Went a 5:27 500 (sorry dad I was wearing fins) and choked it up on the last two (ok, the very last one on purpose). Headed back to my room and slept for about 2 hours. Woke up this time with what I'm beginning to think is a migraine, and it's stayed all day. Except when I was in the pool for afternoon practice, or at least I didn't notice it then. I'm heading to be early tonight after a day of not being able to get anything done. I tried, but could not concentrate. The words just blurred and my head just pounded, not a good learning scenario. Hope everyone has had a good day. I'm looking forward to seeing two of my favorite guys this weekend, and for them to do some heavy lifting for me (I'll be helping, school says you must have four people to do it).

Target.

Had a trip to Target today. Was fun, needed water, and of course ended up spending 15 more dollars than I needed to. National Geographic and that book were calling my name!!

I also found something for my Christmas wish list. To bad it was something completly not worth the $200 they wanted for it. Apparently if you would want the West Wing collection (all seasons!!) then you are smart enough to have a job were $200 would be nothing to pay for your tv shows. Well, in college land that isn't the truth. What and injustice, if I wanted all of Sex in the City is would be like $80, $100 tops. Grrr..... Why am I being penalized for being a nerd?

November 7

Saw the neatest poster yesterday. Or at least I thought so. It was vote poster completely aimed at liberal college females, you can probably get the picture. Have you voted today?

Light

I found a good light post. I just don't have a picture of it. Driving to Indy on 31 there is that place that sells lamp posts and weird/strange lights. I need a picture of that for light. It's perfect.

Buses

Spent most of the day on a bus. That was fun (not really). I slept for a lot of it so I'm even more stiff than I thought I was going to be. I also smacked my heals this morning at practice... I've never done that before and it really hurts. I have bruses. Walking hurts. Smart move Julie.

Photo Friday

I waited up to see what Photo Friday was, no posting, I'm thinking they are on a different time zone. I'm off to bed.

Free Books

I found a web page/group/book club called paperback swap. You trade paperback books. Might have to get together my collection to trade, but then again, I don't really like paperbacks.

Round on both ends and high in the middle-o

Headin' off to Youngstown Ohio tomorrow. Yeah for a seven hour bus ride followed by a swim meet, a night in a strange hotel, a swim practice and another seven hour bus ride. Yeah, but not really. This is the first time we are going to miss classes for swimming, not really a big deal in most classes though.

Seems like it's been a really long day, I'm not used to having my afternoons free and it's kinda strange, even though it happens every Thursday. I did go to the grocery store after practice to have bus snacks and breakfast tomorrow. I like going the grocery store, mainly b/c it isn't a chore.

Got ER to watch, then will probably hit the bed.

soooo.......

Who wants to buy me Bat out of Hell 3- The Monster is Loose ????

Happy Turkey Day

Really excited! Because there will be the final construction on the pool during thanksgiving break we get to home after the practice Saturday morning!!!!!!
