Speyer Day 2
Speyer Day 2. For those of you wondering, we are 6 hours ahead of you (assuming you're in the eastern time zone of the US). I have yet to take any pictures (keep forgetting to get the camera out of my bag). And to answer my mother- no one of the trains was not in the Detroit airport. Frankfurt airport to another Frankfurt station to Mannheim to Speyer.
We took a city tour today. Cathedral. Built in 1,000ish. Largest building in the Western world at the time. Ruins of the Jewish section (destroyed by the French not the Nazi's) and a standing section of the town wall. Some of us hit the Rhine following (or at least some of us did).
This is a tiny town (50,000 people) so I think we saw all the sites. There are about 9 (6 from SPEA, 3 from the University of Georgia) American's in the school of 500. Most of the German students are lawyers doing their practicum time after school before they can actually practice law.
I thought I'd work at keeping up the blog better since I'm doing something seemingly cool. We'll see how it goes.
